A week later, Clio and I both welcomed Polly to Spearfish. We’d booked a room for Polly and had been on tenterhooks waiting for her to arrive. During that week, Clio’s and my relationship improved a lot. Kelly and I were spending a lot of time at the tearooms helping or at Hellfire. My resolve to end the sex-fest with Bear had weakened after three days, and, as that arrogant son of a bitch predicted, I’d begged Bear for his cock. I sensed Kelly may have guessed what was happening but thought everyone else was oblivious.

It was raining when Polly arrived, and as she entered the lobby pulling suitcases behind her, Chance arrived too. Chance greeted Polly and turned a stern eye to the three of us. Clio instantly looked innocent, and Chance rolled his eyes, and I held back a snicker.

“Hawthorne found the last sister. He got Calliope’s address,” Chance said without preamble. We looked curiously at him.

“Well, tell us,” Polly demanded.

“Calliope’s in Roanoke, Virginia. And prepare yourself; she’s in a rough area, so we don’t know what we’ll find. Hawthorne’s doing a deep search, but I’ve a plane booked, and we’re flying out in two hours. Can you dump your gear and come?” Chance asked Polly. Polly nodded.

“Is Calliope in trouble?” Clio asked, biting her lip.

“Dunno, baby, but she’s certainly living in an area where shit is rife. The girl may have kept her nose clean we won’t know until we arrive. Phoe’s lending us a plane and arranging a car to meet us when we land,” Chance explained.

“Okay, let me get my room, and I’ll meet you back here,” Polly said and strode off before anyone could offer help. Two men entered the lobby, both wearing Hellfire cuts. Clio turned to them, confused.

“What are you doing here?”

“Chance said you’re heading into an unknown, somewhat dangerous territory. Ain’t letting ya go alone, Clio,” one said.

“Tiny!” Clio exclaimed as Chance nodded approval. Clio turned to the other. “Shotgun, are you agreeing to this madness?”

“Yup, we’ll watch in case someone tries to harm you. If Chance has to forcefully save your sister, we got your back. Bear and Kelly have Chance’s,” Shotgun grunted, and Clio frowned. Bear entered the lobby giving me a quick once over.

“Polly will be with us, and she can kick the shit out of anyone,” I said, and Tiny turned a glower on me.

“Clio’s pregnant with a legacy president. Ain’t lettin’ shit happen,” Tiny growled. That threw me. What was a legacy president?

“Tiny means that if this is a boy, he’s the next president of Hellfire,” Clio explained, seeing my confusion.

“But that means Chance will be an old man when he retires,” I exclaimed, and Chance sent me a dark look. Okay, no mentioning Chance’s age.

“There’ll be a president in between, but our baby will be the next legacy,” Clio explained, and I nodded. When was an MC president deemed too old to run the club? Polly returning interrupted my thoughts, and she calmly studied the men surrounding us.
